Information for authors
Deadline for abstract submission: February 15, 2010 An author may submit a maximum of one abstract as first author. It is possible to appear as co-author on other abstracts. Posters [Poster Instructions - PDF Document] A poster involves a text and graphic display of research findings in the field of language acquisition. Poster presentation is an excellent format for presenting your research in a way that encourages stimulating discussions. This format is highly recommended.
Symposia [ IMPORTANT - To prevent possible installation problems, we kindly request that you turn up 15 minutes before the beginning of the session in order top install your presentation or your laptop.] A symposium provides an opportunity to examine one topic in depth or from different perspectives. Symposium sessions are two-hours in length. They are submitted and coordinated by one chair, with four presenters of 20 mins spoken papers each and a discussant. Individual Papers [ IMPORTANT - To prevent possible installation problems, we kindly request that you turn up 15 minutes before the beginning of the session in order top install your presentation or your laptop.] The paper sessions comprise 20-minute oral presentations of four papers, followed by audience discussion. These should be submitted individually and the program committee will organize them into topically coherent sessions.
Submission guidelines
Posters and individual papers The first author introduces the information related to posters or individual papers. It includes a title and an abstract of no more of 500 words in length, without references. The name of the authors should not appear on the text but on the special space reserved for it. Up to six authors can be introduced.
Symposia Only the chair or proponent introduces the information related to the symposium. It includes a title and a 250 words abstract about the general aims and content of the symposium followed by the four individual contributions, one after the other. The individual contributions should include a title and an abstract of no more than 500 words in length, without references. The name of the authors should not appear on the text but on the special space reserved for it. Up to six names can be introduced: the first correspond to the symposium organizer or proponent, the following four to authors of individual contributions and the last one to the discussant. Complete information concerning additional authors of individual contributions will be required for accepted symposia to be published on the program and on the book of abstracts.
Abstract Review Please familiarize yourself with the rating guidelines used by reviewers. Is the question or issue clearly stated? Is the significance of the work clearly stated? Is the method appropriate to the question addressed? Is the work completed, or does it show very strong promise of being completed in time for conference? Is the abstract written clearly and organized well? Is the topic of scientific, methodological or theoretical importance? Is the paper likely to be of interest to a reasonable number of attendees at AEAL?
